Saturday

Inspired by the success of the beach visit on Labor day, plus the fact that we have the car to ourselves this weekend, (and don't forget, no more classes for Mama! Yey!) we decided to ... ahem... try to hit the beach again this morning.
Note the emphasis on the word TRY.
Cause #1: we all woke up kind of late, and the sun was already pretty hot by the time we hit the road
Cause #2: see picture below:

Traffic jam? Up here in the sleepy tourist town? Arrrrrrr......
It would seem that there was an accident on the bridge, the only one between the house and the town proper, and hence, the beach.
Going to the beach then would entail us taking a long detour through the nearby town (and its crazy traffic!) right after we navigate the long line of cars going in the same direction.
After getting stuck for an eternity, we finally managed to find our way back home.
(Note: the fact that we got stuck was the reason why Mama was able to take the top picture).
The Kid was getting cranky, and I'm pretty sure the Dog was quite confused as to why she was made to sit in the car only to be taken around through a traffic jam. Doh!

Forever the optimist, we did stay at home for the rest of the morning and then uses the cloudy weather to take an earlier walkies with the Dog. The word optimist was because we actually tried again to hit the beach in the evening, this time sans the Dog.
Because at first, we were just going to get some ice cream. Only when we saw that the road was quite clear, we decided to try again.
And so we got the beach.

The bucket and the rest? Ha, they stayed in the car after the morning's failed attempt to reach the beach. That's why we still had them with us.

So Kecil got to play again with sand (she kept a good distance away from the 'dirty' water), and Mama got her pics.

Bonus point? We still ended up with ice cream. Haha!

T'was a good Saturday, even with the shocking traffic jam in the morning. Wishing you a good weekend as well, there's still one day to go!
